Boost is currently partnering in this targeted area with several clients locally and nationally specializing in food waste to energy conversion.
There are different methods that can be used to divert organic waste from landfills, such as composting and waste-to-energy through incineration. However, anaerobic digestion (AD) generally produces less GHG emissions, less air pollutants and provides higher value than composting through the generation of renewable energy (biogas).
These projects aim to demonstrate the applicability of the MW-AOP as a pre-treatment of the organic waste (food scraps/FOG’s), breaking down the waste into volatile fatty acids suitable for energy recovery.
